Project Types
Carbon Logic is proud to be the first Mississippi-based forest carbon aggregator.
1. Afforestation Projects
To qualify for an afforestation project forest stands must have been planted on or after January 1, 1990 on lands that were in an un-forested state on December 31, 1989. Typically, this includes lands which have been enrolled in CRP and WRP programs or it could be any old field or pasture tree plantings.
Afforestation projects have a value-added opportunity of receiving retroactive crediting back to 2003 if all qualifications are met.
Landowners must:
- Provide proof of legal ownership.
- Make a fifteen year commitment to maintain enrolled lands as forest stock.
- Agree to abide by the rules of the CCX
2. Managed Forest Projects
Virtually any managed forest can qualify for participation in a Managed Forest Project provided CCX prescribed protocols are met.
Landowners must:
- Provide proof of legal ownership
- Provide a working forest management plan
- Provide proof of sustainable forest management through certification in an approved certification scheme such as the American Tree Farm System
- Requires a fifteen year commitment to manage all enrolled forests sustainably
- Practice limited harvesting
- Agree to abide by the rules of the CCX
3. Large Ownerships, TIMOs and REITs
At Carbon Logic, managing 'corporate-sized' ownerships is no problem. We are equipped with the latest GPS and GIS technology available for forestry operations. Our sophisticated database has the capability to integrate with databases already in place for your particular ownership. We employ registered, ACF foresters, a biometrician, and a GIS specialist, who are all more than willing to work with your current forest management specialist(s).
